ANZAC Day Service in Marulan
There will be both a Dawn Service at 6am and also an Official Service at 11am – meet at the Marulan War Memorial, 1 Thoroughfare St, Marulan NSW 2579.
The First World War was such a huge event in the history of Australia, a tragic time which hardly a town or village in Australia was not affected with the loss of lives of young men. Throughout the country, memorials can be seen to the men who fought in the ‘Great War’ of 1914 – 1918. The Marulan memorial was erected in 1919 and is made of local granite.
In 1993 to celebrate 75 years since the end of World War I, a service was held here and each school child had a balloon with a service man or woman’s name on it. As the names were read, the balloon was released. Recently the MOHS decided that there should be all servicemen and women on one memorial. World War II men and women were on a memorial in the Hall and the names of service personnel from Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Timar, Cambodia and Iraq were not on any memorial. The MOHS obtained a grant from the RSL and had the memorial cleaned, spruced up and the new names added.
Every Anzac Day a service is held here. This year, the Historical Society is having a display featuring two local families, the Jenkins and the Lathams as well as other items pertaining to Anzac Day and will be serving morning tea in St. Stephen’s Church Hall after the 11.00am service.

Goulburn Farmers Market dates for 2024
The Goulburn Farmers Market is a brand new cooperative venture promoting local producers and makers, and for the public to discover the best foods of the region. This is a monthly event.
The Goulburn Farmers Market has a community vibe with local entertainers among the stallholders, good coffee, small workshops on how to grow food, beekeeping and making compost.
Goulburn Farmers Market started with a conversation among Goulburn residents about the desirability of obtaining fresh local farm produce. The region has a long history of farming. Many small farms still have heritage orchards which produce wonderful fruit though not in large enough numbers to take advantage of modern supply chains. Small growers often have surplus with no outlet other than friends and neighbours.
And so the idea of a Goulburn Farmers Market was born in the hope of providing locally grown, fresh, affordable food to local consumers, with the added benefits of: low food miles, less packaging, less chemicals and preservatives and sustainable practices.
Every 4th Saturday of the month, 8-11am
