Get ready for adventure, the brand-new Wingello Forest Recreational Adventure Park is officially open, and it’s better than ever!
Thanks to a partnership between Wingecarribee Shire Council and NSW Forestry Corporation, and $440,000 in NSW Government funding through the Places to Play program, the park has been transformed into a vibrant, inclusive space for everyone to enjoy.
Located in the heart of Wingello State Forest, the park was designed by Nicholas Bray Landscapes to offer a more inclusive and accessible outdoor experience. New features include:
- A redesigned central loop track for riders of all skill levels
- An adventure nature playground within the campground
- Improved accessibility for a wide range of users, including dog walkers, horse riders, families, scouts, and students
- Enhanced camping and visitor facilities
The project is a major milestone in the area’s recovery from the 2019–2020 Black Summer bushfires, which severely impacted this once-thriving mountain biking destination.
The official opening on 10 April, hosted by Forestry Corporation NSW, brought together local representatives and community members. Cr David Kent acknowledged Highlands Trails for their incredible volunteer work driving the forest’s recovery.
