Marulan Public School Smashes their Gift Goal

Marulan Public School smashed their goal of 150 gifts for the Student Representative Council (SRC) Christmas Gift Appeal and donated just over 200. The SRC loaded up Mrs Baxter’s car on Friday and it was full of gifts for Anglicare to distribute. The school posted on their Facebook page to thank students, their families and the local Marulan community. The school said, “The staff at Anglicare were so grateful and amazed at the generosity of the Marulan community. They said our donations would make a lot of children very happy this Christmas. Well done and thank you everyone. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from the SRC.” A wonderful achievement! Congratulations to our local school for their hard work.

Paint the Town Mural starts 17th February 2024

Did you know that Marulan will host a mural as part of the Southern Tablelands Arts ‘Paint the Town’ street art festival? It will be painted on the side of the Marulan Memorial Hall. A community meeting was held on Friday September 8th 2023 to discuss potential mural sites and themes, it was well attended by local people and the style of the mural was explored by all who came along. Nationally established artists supplied through Southern Tablelands Arts will work along side local talent to create murals that reflect our recovery journey since the 2019 black summer fires. Murals represent the voices and insights of fire effected community members through co-design workshops held with fire effected community members. A celebration of art that brings colour, vibrancy and culture to our region. PAINT THE TOWN is the brainchild of Wollondilly based street artist Joe Quilter, who brought his dream of a street art festival to STA and before you could say abracadabra PAINT THE TOWN became a reality. Their only addition was to say let’s do four street art festivals and really have some fun. @stapaintthetown on Instagram for all the updates.
